90 HP Identification

When was the last year the 90 HP SPL (no oil injector) was made? I have a 1998 deckboat and the previous owner said the motor came on that boat. Everything I've seen shows the 88/90 HP engines being made earlier?? The ID plate cannot be read on this engine .

they made the 90 hp crossflow in 1998 on the Johnson side....not sure about the evinrude brand.. and it didn't have a VRO.bob
