90 hp Johnson

I have a 1988-89 Johnson 90 hp variable ration oil injection. The last use the cooling water would sometimes not come out, come out in a dribble or come out normal. It would vary throughout the day. Do you know what this could be. The screens at the intake were clean. Can I remove the lower unit to check the water pump? If so is there a schmatic that would help me? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Before doing anything drastic I would check and make sure that the "pee" hole is not clogged and check the rubber water line going to the discharge.

I had the same problem as you and I changed my water pump impeller but I couldn't see anything wrong with the old one. Wound up being a grain of sand hung up in the pee hole.
