The specifications on this motor says it is electric/manual start. What do they mean? I ask a mechanic if you could start this motor manualy and he said no the flywheel is enclosed. Am I reading the specifications wrong. It is in the sales manual thay pass out at the dealers showrooms and is on Bombardier web site.

Hi, D.J.

The spec means that you can get the engine with electric start or manual start. In a small engine you often get both an electric starter and a rope recoil starter, but not all engines have both.

If you take the bonnet off of the 90, you will find notches on the flywheel for winding a free rope, or the spec is wrong.

Good luck. :)

Thanks for the info JB I don't know why the service center could not tell me that. I looked at the cover over the flywheel and I don't think it can be acessed. I keep a small 10amp.12 volt DC gasoline generator on board so I should not have to pull start it unless the starter goes bad.
