Has anyone had any steering slop requiring replacing either the steering hull at the steering wheel or what other items can cause this problem? I can move the outdrive slightly to the left or right until tension is felt. Thanks, Jim

Sounds like the tiller bolts on the transom housing need to be re-torqued, 55lbs/ft. (yearly merc recommended maint)

Are you refering to the steering lever that has a nut and a pinch bolt located within the steering cavity? The manual instructs me to hole saw a 1 in hole in my gimbal housing on each side. Have you seen this practice before I go crazy with a hole saw? thanks jim
