Boat has sat for a few years... I know the floor is rotted on a few areas around the gas tank access, and also all of the seat cushion back have disintegrated. I have decided to rip up the floor and see what kind of fun i can get into. I will post pics of what I come across.

Alot of the wood just crumbles.. the rotten wood is under a layer of fiberglass.. is the an easy way to get this fiberglass up to remove the plywood?

I been using a diamond grinder wheel. Just cut through the glass around the edge. Then once I start it with a chisel. I use a crowbar and just pry. When the wood is wet like that it pops right off in one big sheet. Then the glass don't dull the blade on the saws all and it cuts faster.

Fiberglass is putting up a fight. After that is up the wood under Meath scrapes away. I'm getting to an area not rotted and now the wood is putting up a fight.
I am finding another layer (although really thin) of fiberglass before the foam. Is this normal and should I reinstall in same format.. foam, fiberglass, wood then Fiberglass?

As was suggested to me I now pass to you. Watch Frisco Boater doing his Sea Ray. He explains everything. Sealing the deck before it is installed. My boat all the damage was coming from places where the wood was untreated underneath. Places it was sealed on both sides it was wet but not rotted. So yes I myself am definitely sealing it top and bottom.

Here is a link to Frisco Boaters restoration. Watch it it is a good tutorial on what to do and why you would want to do it. I am much more comfortable working on mine now that I have seen his series.

Great videos so far.. I'm where he has his stringers in. Real quick tho I don't recall if he mentioned if they are marine plywood or not... I'm assuming it is. Bummer cause closest marine plywood I can find is an hour away

Are all good plywood choices for stringers, transoms and decks. Some more expensive the others, some easier to find then others.

Make sure its made w waterproof glue. Some are even boil proof...

Word of caution, there are other videos and series available after his Searay build. Some are difficult to watch, and arent boat related.
