Hello,

I am new here, I tried searching for this but didn't see my boat listed.

The trim won't go up on my boat, it does go down, and only goes up when I push the trailer button.

I checked the trim fluid and it has some but its milky, cream colored looking, which based on my google search sounds like I got water in there.

I'm very new to boats but mech inclined, is this something I can flush easliy?

I was looking for a manuel to find out what kind of fluid I need to get, I was told its either lightweight, (20) trim fluid or red (tranny fluid)

Thanks

Yeah, the milky color most likely means you've gotten water in it but that's not the reason your trim isn't going up.

If it goes up with the trailer button, your pump and actuators are working correctly but you either have a bad up limit switch, a bad relay, bad wiring or a bad trim switch.

There are some mercruiser service manuals in the "Adults Only" sticky at the top of this forum. You should be able to find the info you need in there.

Mine was milky like that last year....i thought i had a leaky trim cylinder or hose....turns some of the time my sundeck was getting wet and was dripping onto the top of the trim pump and water was getting in it that way. I ripped it all apart...unhooked the hoses from the trim cylinders and drained the whole system. There was a bad gasket in the motor as well and tons of water in it. dried it all out and some fresh oil and everything has been good.
