90 yamaha lower unit

Hi there I am in need of some advice well this is what had happened i was up at the cottage and decided to lend my boat to a friend and what do you know they hit a rock the prop was banged up really bad and the skeg has a chip out of it but this is the worst part they had bent the prop shaft as well now i can get a new lower unit or try to have this one fixed what is the best way to go and one more thing is can a 70 hrsp lower unit fit on a 90 as I can get one for 400 bucks thanks and any info would be great

Changing the prop shaft is not the job for you unless you're a professional with the right tools, I believe some of the 70's and 90's match up, but I would make sure by checking numbers.
