Re: 90hp Chrysler hesitation
Your comment about cleaning the carbs and the engine running great for about ten minutes leads me to believe that you possibly have crap in the tank.
When you cleaned the carbs, did they have a gritty sandy substance or a jello-like substance in them?
The reason I ask is because mixing gasoline with ethanol additive with gasoline with MBTE additive will cause these substances to form in boat gas tanks.
The cure for the immediate time is to try to buy gas from the same brand stations if at all possible. That way, you will be sure not to mix additives.
Do yourself a favor and buy a cheap plastic inline filter and place it between the fuel pump and the carbs. That way you protect the carbs from anything, including pieces of diaphragm or brass from the fuel pump, and you can easily see the filter and fuel condition just by removing the cover. If you already have a filter between the tank and fuel pump, check it to be sure it is not partially clogged. Also, if you have fuel line quick connect fittings, check the male fitting. Unscrew it and check the ball spring and the passage. Junk tends to get caught there and restrict fuel flow. Check the fuel pump diaphragm to be sure it is not hardened or cracked.
