I have a johnson 90hp model J90TLCUR with the vro oil tank and pump. I'm not sure of the year. I bought it used from a guy that couldn't run it for me. Tried to get it running today. I checked compression and it was 115,135,125,110. I don't have the controls connected other than the wire harness. I disconnected fuel line that goes into the carb and hooked up 50:1 with a primer bulb, fuel filter and 6 gallon tank. I disconnected the crankcase hose to the pump and left the hose end open. The motor cranks but will not start. I pulled each spark plug and hooked to the spark plug wire and grounded the plugs and cranked motor. Had bright blue spark on all. I sprayed fuel directly into the carb venturi with the flaps open a little and

When starting, it's important that you are able to choke the engine. You did not mention that. That engine is a bear to start without a choke. Also, It's typical that the warm-up lever is raised on the control box in order to provide more fuel, air during the start cycle. Since you have no control box, you can't do this.

Sure you got spark ??? Will it jump a good gap with a spark tester ??

It has bright blue/white spark on all plugs when tested outside the cylinders. Could the choke lines have anything to do with it? Do I need to plug any thing up to get the carbs to suck the fuel in? The spark plugs didn't appear wet. Could the reeds be stuck?

Testing spark on the plugs means nothing. It has to jump a 7/16" open air gap on a spark tester.
