It's me again! Honest, this motor is in great shape, just a little old (1988). This problem was here before I replaced the water pump impeller. I thought it might be an overheat problem that I had but know better now.
It runs out of gas in about 30 seconds after reaching plane. Have to stop and primer it again. No problem running on medium speed. The gas tank is a built in. The auto oiler has been bypassed and am running 50/1 per manual. I can't locate a gas filter near the tank. Do they usually have one on/in the tank?
How about on the motor. Is the filter a 2-3 inch device inline before the pump?
Is there a possibility that my having disabled the VRO caused a problem with the pump. I have kept a golf tee in the oil input to the motor. Just checked and it's still there.
Thanks again in advance for advice,
Jerry

Your fuel pump may have a filter built into it. The manual should show it.

c/6

Hooty

Die Hard
You should have a filter as you described, before the pump. Disabling the VRO will have no effect on fuel flow. Check the vent on the fuel tank and be sure it's clear. Check your fuel filter. Check your anti-syphon valve in the tank pick-up. Check your primer bulb or replace it. Just some suggestions!
