You guys are a great group of people, who have helped so many. I just wanted to say thanks in advance. I have noticed that some engine manufactures build engines that are the same wieght and CC displacement, but are differnt horse power. I notice the max RPM are different. My question is about longjevity. Is the engine with more HP likely to wear out a lot sooner?

Re: 90hp vs 115hp Same Motor ???

With reasonable care and maintenance both hp motors should have similar service lives. Hp differences (in a 2-stroke outboard) are achieved thru some combination of carburetor jetting, intake manifold design, leaf plate and reed valve design, cylinder port timing and exhaust tuning.

That's why a 90 and a 115 (and many other similar displacement motors) typically share the same block, pistons and other specs...

Hope this helps.

-John
