Hello...want to put a single on a 25' mako. keep it light! what would be the most reliable. i know the 200's are pretty darn good, but not enough power? not lookin for speed just get on plane without over workin the engine all the time, seems like 225-250 no matter what make are more prone to blow up! new & old. maybe 2 v-4's? Thanks for any advise

Re: 90's 225-250

Your not gonna see any real difference at all from a 200 to a 225, they are basically the exact same engine. Don't understand why you would think the 225's and 250's "blow up" any more than any other engine?

It depends on what type Mako your talking about a CC could be really good with a single 200, but a 25' walkaround is gonna be underpowered with any single engine. Since this is not really a repair topic, you better off posting it in the Non-Repair discussions forum, it'll probably get moved there for you anyway.
