First a little history.. 3 weeks ago motor was running top notch. Trolling motor went out and I ran a ground several times and had to blow out trash from tell tale of motor. Noticed that I had lost a lot of pressure from pressure guage, so I dropped the foot and checked the water pump. I also popped off the exhaust cover between cylinders to check for trash. Put everything back together but.. my supplier only had one exhaust cover gasket so I reused the one in the back plate. Now I took the boat out and she took forever to get on plane and the pressure was still terrible. I was going to do a decrab when I noticed the white pastey looking junk on the plugs in the right side of the motor. Another thing was that I had the cover off the motor while running WO and when I came off plane water came rushing around engine.. don't know if water could have got in that way or not. All help is much appreciated.

Could be theres still junk in the waterways, it overheated and blew the headgasket.

Could be. I'd drop the LU again, remove the t-stat, and backflush the system from the t-stat. You also may need to remove the heads and check out the cylinders, and inspect to see if the gaskey blew out or if you have a bigger problem.

Update. I decarded the motor and checked the compression and everythings good, but it is still getting water in the motor. Checked the gas to make sure that wasn't it and it wasn't. I also don't think the motor overheated the warning horn never went off so it shouldn't have blew a head gasket. I appreciate the responses and would like to know how to backflush the motor. Also how long does it take for water evaporate in the motor cylinders with it running on muffs. All help is appreciated.

running it on muffs could just be putting more water in it if a gasket went, could be exhaust gasket too, not just the head.

If you have water in all cyls one side, it's likely the head gasket. If you do repl the head gasket, check the cylinders for debris and the condition of the water deflectors on that side. Whatever you find will probably be on the other side, too. If you find some debris in the thermostat housings, I'd also remove the head (water) covers (don't need to take the heads off) and see if there is any debris in them restricting water flow.
