Can someone help me? When I shift into forward then try to shift back to nuetral my shifter gets stuck. It's like there is something binding right before it gets to nuetral. To get it back to nuetral I have to shut the motor off. If I'm in forward but just barely on the throttle and pull it back to nuetral it's real hard but after a few seconds sometimes it will release to nuetral.I disconnected outdrive cable from carb and it moves but not to easy.I've pulled the other cables off and they seem to be move freely.I guess if you think it's the outdrive cable can tell me how hard it is to replace?I've already replaced the shifter. Thanks

Should the cable going to the outdrive move freely when I push or pull on it.I have it disconnected from the carb and it seems to take a little force to move it by hand. Thanks

When you move the control at the helm you actually move 3 cables.

One cable goes to the carb

One cable moves a shift converter, the converter moves the lower cable going to the drive to shift.

Yes but if I have the one off that goes to the outdrive and manually move it in or out should it move freely or have some stiffness to it?
