I cant tell you much about the boat. The Force is out of business. It was a fairly good entry level motor.Mercury does have some parts but they anounced some years ago there would be no further production of parts.Parts are still around But some can be hard to find. While some newer Forces shared some Merc parts they should not be considered a Merc motor.

Both are a headache. The boat is notorious for rot. Chech the floor and transom real good for cracks/flex. Force is the lowest quality outboard in the spectrum. How much is this boat?

One is a 91' $6k that has a completly rebuilt 150HP.

The other is 89' $3500 with a 120HP that has had a new impeller and other random maintnence, can't remeber all. I've seen photos of both but not in person yet.

Thanks Mercrewser, I'll check the transom and the floor.

Any specific steps I should go through on the sea trial? I'm pretty new to boats but know my way about cars.

One more question: How would you classify the Arriva boats, is it a Deep-V, speed boat etc? or could you compare it to a bayliner capri? what are some difference or concerns I should have that I may not be aware of having not owned a boat before.

Thanks guys for all the help!

THanks

I sold my 1992 Mariah 2350 ZC cuddy with a 230 hp MerCruiser. It had a dual axle loadright trailer with brakes. It needed ujoints but was otherwise in good shape. I got 6500. Mariahs were high end boats. Now I sold mine off season and probably coulda gotten more for it had I painted the bottom and cleaned it up some. But it was late fall and I was buying a house and needed it to go. It went on ebay so 6500 apparently was the most anyone would pay for it. Watch ebay. You can get alot more boat with a much better powerplant for 3000. 6000 is out of line. Check NADA values online, however they are a lose guide. A rebuilt engine doesnt mean much in that boat. If it was a higher end boat it would add to the value. I'm tired of people asking to much for boats. They sit and sit for sale all the while being neglected and depreciating.

Oh yeah, welcome to the board. Stick around and you wont be a newbi for long. Do a search on some of these forums about boats you are looking at and you can see the hits and misses of a particular brand. I think Arriva boats were made by Bayliner? Similar to Maxum? Someone else will chime in and set it straight.

150s are a rather rare Force. Finding many new or used powerhead parts is going to be awfully difficult. :(

steer clear of this one, id say.

there are MANY more boats, better quiality, that actually have motors made by companies that are STILL AROUND for much less than you would drop on this thing here
