I'm looking to by-pass the VRO pump on my engine so I can run pre-mix fuel. I had a 87 150 VRO that was by-passed. It was fine. I just put the 175 on my boat and noticed the pump was broke and I'm trying to figure out how to eliminate the pump. Does anyone know what and how to do this? Also re-hooking the choke. Has anyone come across this?

on the 175, you need 2 0385784 FUEL PUMP ASSY, inline. that is $200 just to begin. one acts as a pickup pump feeding the other that acts as the pressurizing pump.

it goes like this:

To use two pumps, you need two pulse lines, so you stll have to make some other adjustments to the system. It still is not as good a pump as one VRO2.

If the VRO2 pump is working, convert it to premix as indicated, it costs you nothing, and the gasoline side can be repaired if and when it wears.
