I've just bought a 1991 Gamefisher 9.9 I was told it was made by Force. The motor doesn't appear to have been used much. I'm wondering what to expect from this motor in terms of reliability, and what to watch for. I've heard to stay away from Force but the price was too good to pass up. Did I make a bad decision? Thanks.
<br /><br />A motor's reliability is far more connected with maintenance than brand name. It all depends on how it was and will be maintained. I will reluctantly mention that the cheaper motors generally reiceve less maintenance than more expensive brands. But that's an "owner" thing, not a manufacturer thing.
