Just pulled the boat out of the water and notice slight movement from the lower part of the transom mount when lifting the out-drive from the prop fin area. Not quite sure now it is bolted to the transom. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is an outer and inner transom mount; 6 studs go thru the transom and the nuts are on the inner transom side. Access just depends on the boat. Take a look at parts diagrams on Crowley Marine or Marine Engine. I hope the transom isn’t getting soft….

Sorry for the two threads, was just trying to start a new conv'n.
Didn't see much on crowley's about the bolts arrangement.
The transom was inspected when winterized and doesn't appear to be getting soft, using the pin ball test appears to be solid.

I would do a test drill or two

I am willing to bet the transom is getting soft.

Spoke to a marine surveyor that will do a test for moisture in the transom. I'm apprehensive about drilling holes in my transom and he mentioned the transom is manufactured as a solid fiberglass construction and as it has passed a fairly vigorous sounding test and figures a moisture test wont show much. We will see with fingers crossed.
