I have a 1991 Cobia Monte Carlo with an OMC Cobra 3.0. Today on the river after tubing for about an hour we stopped to change the tubes for skis. when I took off the engine lost power. It bogged down and then started running fine. we pulled in all of the ropes and headed in to the ramp. On the way back it was running fine then bogged down for a few seconds then ran fine again. I din't have any trouble the rest of the way to the ramp. We were about a mile from the ramp. any ideas?

Had same problem on my boat a few days ago (OMC 5.0L)...check fuel system...filters (there are 3), seals (make sure there is a vacuum), and check your fuel pump. Its not uncommon for them to start to split inside (they are diaphram fuel pumps). My boat was acting fine at idle, would bog when getting on plane, then run fine up on plane. Fuel filter in tank was clogged. I'd check them...its easy, cheap, and very worth while. Also check fuel tank vent.

Thanks for your input. Plan on changing the filters this weekend.
