91 Volvo Penta Prop

I've just bought a 91 Bahia with the 4.3 and a Volvo penta outdrive. I need to remove the prop To have it fixed. It has the nose cone and is a single prop.I tried but cant get it off. Is it a reverse Thread. Help! Any other input on this boat would be great. Thanks

No, it is not a reverse thread. It is stuck from corrosion. You need a prop puller or very carefully try to pinch it off with 2 pry bars parallaled across. E-mail me if you have any other problems at: jmontgom@gulftel.com

Right. Apart from the pin nothing is holding the prop on the shaft.<br /><br />If the boat is out of the water soaking it in WD40 or alike overnight may help.<br /><br />Worst case it would need to removed by slicing the hub. That'll remove the need for prop repair as you'll have to get a new.

did you check the center of the prop nut some of them have a allen screw in the center that has to be tacken out to remove the prop nut
