Ok guys so I'm needing to find the size of the drain hole in the block to clean it out with a tap. I know these come with an adapter with either the blue plastic plugs or a brass plug. I have the insert with the brass plug on one side, and upon pulling the engine to begin my restoration I come across this handy work.
The previous owner was a moron. My best guess is the broke the plug... Tried to go at it with an ease out and then said screw it and piled it full of silicone. I tackled it and realized they had it cleaned out they just needed to knock the leftover metal off. Moving along... I got what i believe all the silicone out and am left with the original threads just rusted up so I'm going to try and clean them up and get a new plug. So any help on the size would be greatly appreciated... I have found where some are saying 9/16 which looks about right but I don't know the thread size.
