Hi!
This is kind of a stupid question but just want to be sure.
I'm having some rattling sound that possibly could be piston noise but also suspecting the main bearing. I've removed the VRO-pump and installed a standard fuel pump since a couple of years back. When reading this thread http://forums.iboats.com/johnson-evi...ue-518050.html it is mentioned that the main bearing get lubricated via an oil channel. Hmm... Is that something that the VRO-pump would supply 2 stroke oil into (that is now removed) or is it fuelmix doin the lubrication?

Cheers

via fuel mix.
Id track it down before starting it again if possible.
Check each piston for play at tdc and check flywheel for lateral/vertical play

Ok, thanks for the confirmation. I've checked all pistons for play but don't find any. Have no axial play but noticeable radial (vertical) play and also sound when pulling the flywheel. Going to give the main bearing a look. Keep u posted.

cheers
