Hey guys,

I have a 92 evinrude 30 hp elec start thats acting up a bit. when priming it, the primer gets really really hard to prime when on the engine and makes it hard to start since it doesnt work properly.

after taking the primer off, it works right when off of the engine and all the seals and stuff look good. i cleaned the carb last year thinking it was clogged up somewhere but didnt have any luck with it.

any help on where else to go next? it gets gas to it and will run if you sit there cranking long enough on it. the primer just gets rock hard like its binding but im not sure where i need to look to get it cleaned out since the carb is clean.

where else does it inject into the throttle body? might this be clogged up causing the issue?

thanks for any help,
steve

Use a thin jet drill bit and clean out the nipple in the carb where the injection hose from the primer attach.

Are we talking about the primer ball on the gas tank or the primer on the engine itself?

The one thats on the engine is the one that gets hard. The one on the tank works properly.
