Continuing from last post. Went back to the shop where the motor was repaired. Carb's have been cleaned and when the engine runs it runs great. Now the problem is that the pump bulb goes soft when running at near top end and the boat starts lunging. This weekend I had my wife sit at the back of the boat and when it started to lunge, she would pump the bulb. The boat will run fine if I can just keep here there in the back pumping the darned bulb. Is this sucking air from one of the new fuel lines? Any suggestions, she'd rather just ride on the pontoon.

sounds, like the vent on the tank could be closed or clogged, sucking air, fuel fittings prior to the carb, or fuel pump failing. i have a 93 40. the bulb is suppose to be soft after the motor starts and the fuel pump starts pumping. if it is going flat, the tank vent is closed or clogged. clean the fuel filter.
