My motor is stuck in the 3/4 up position and the tilt and trim is not working. The motor for the hydraulic lift is shot. I can get the two screws out that are visible from the back. One of those next to the boat is missing and one is pretty well inaccessable. Has anyone done this? How did you get at that last screw without having the engine removed from the boat? Is it possible. <br />One additional question. How does the manual release work? I can't make the slotted screw in that hole turn or the lift release.

I believe on that engine, you have to remove the T&T assembly to replace the motor. The Manual release valve turns out counterclockwise to release the T&T pressure. Use the biggest screwdriver that will fit the screw and use a good brand. One turn out should let it fall. Do not try to turn it out more than 2 turns or you will have trouble, as there is a snap ring in there to hold the screw from backing out too far. Sometimes these screws are a bear to back out and the screw slot will strip out. That's why I suggested the above tool. If it strips out, post back and we'll go from there. One thing about it, if it does strip out and you have to remove the T&T unit anyway, the screw is much easier to get at with it off.

Thanks Rick. I will try a bit more strength on the screwdriver. I have no idea how to get that t&t assembly off but I hoped if I could release the pressure I might be able to push the engine the rest of the way up to give just a little more room to get at that fourth screw. Thanks. Too dark to work tonight but I will post again if things aren't looking up then. David
