I have given up on repairing it myself. I have replaced every O ring and check ball but the system still leaks down too fast for the pump to keep up under drive. I have narrowed the problem down to the actual pump, the motor and cylinder are fine.

The local marinas seem unwilling to look at it. What are my choices? Mercury will not sell a pump anymore, just a complete assembly. Would a local hydraulics place be able to handle this sort of thing? It just a small hydraulics system after all.

What about the aftermarket, I can find lots of motors but nobody selling pumps.

TIA

BJM,
Do you see any external leaking or oil(wetness) on the outside of the unit anywhere?Has corrosion eaten it's way through the trim assembly causing a leak? Post back.

Re: 92 Mariner trim repair questions

There is very little corrosion on the unit at all. I made a block off plate for the cylinder after removing the pump assy. The cylinder holds pressure fine, I couldn't make the engine sag even after hanging off it.

With the pump back on and the reservoir off, fluid pours back up out of one of the pump orifices when I push on the motor. I have changed every internal part I could but no change at all.
