'93 115 won't idle

I cleaned the carbs in my 93 115 TLET. I also changed all the fuel lines.

The engine starts but it will not idle. If I pump the solenoid, it revs up fast and runs a few seconds until the primer fuel is burned off. Then it dies.

Where do I start?

if your carbs were cleaned a while back i would start by cleaning the carbs completely and checking fuel pump for any rips in diaphram thouroughly clean all jets use powertune from quick silver

Thanks for the reply. I actually just cleaned the carbs (twice) including all the jets. I will definitely check the fuel pump. I am leaning toward an air leak somewhere in the fuel system. Does this sound reasonable?

I also have not yet checked the timing. Would the timing being off cause this problem?

you answered your own question.

if you give it more fuel it wil keep idling, not great but it wont stall. so what is lacking is fuel at this time.
timing should be checked every time you take the carbs of and do a link and sync.

get a fuel pressure tester and t it in before the carbs.

when you sqeese the primer bulp does it keep running?

Thanks for the reply. I haven't tried priming the bulb when it is stalling. I'll have to get a helper to be able to crank and pump at the same time. What's the fuel pressure supposed to be? I don't have my OEM manual in front of me. I assume it's in there?

at idle 2 psi wide open 6 psi

You are not getting fuel at idle. Could be you have some dried fuel in the idle circuits/passages. Only carb cleaner will dissolve dried fuel. When you clean the carbs, the important step is to blow an aerosol carb cleaner through all the carb passages. In this case, the idle passages. You need to make sure that a carb opening/passage on one carb will flow the same amount of pressurized aerosol carb cleaner as the same passage on the other carb. Ditto for all passages. All jets need to be removed and visually inspected.
