now that i got it running checked it all out, warmed it up killed it and i now have no power to the key i have done a little trouble shooting as to jump the power wire by unscrewing it from the block and holding it to the + wire on the solenoid. then all works right. can anyone tell me where the power wire (black with yellow strip) is coming from. did i fry anything? is there a fuse somewhere? i dont have a book on this yet but i do have one for chryslers....lol

Whoa!

Black with the yellow stripe is the ignition kill wire.

DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT put 12 V to this wire or you WiLL damage the ignition system.

A dead ignition switch is often caused by a blown main fuse near the starter relay, feeding the ignition switch.

If this fuse is blown, find out why.
