update from last post and still need help. Ok so originally the motor would bog down and cut out at full throttle - i did full carb rebuild and new plugs - ran great in barrel at home at idle and full throttle. Brought it down to the boat. Won't stay running. I have to keep pulling the choke in and out to keep it going. I feel like it's not getting gas, doesn't matter if i pump the primer still wants to shut off, so i dont think its a fuel pump issue. any thoughts.

Do you have the float in the carb set level when turned upside down? If you have to keep using the choke then it is starving. How did you run this at full throttle in a barrel? I can't keep water in mine if I try that. You can try to pump the primer bulb when it starts to die. If it picks up then it is your fuel pump. It's an easy way to eliminate the fuel pump as the problem.

One of the most common things that newbies do, When they say, (I did a full carb/s overhaul), not that you did this. They don't remove Any/all core/welch plugs and completely disassemble carb/s and allow them to soak for 24hrs. Spray can of carb cleaner won't get the job done. 2nd. They either use old seals and gaskets, "NO BUNEO".3rd. They also use second and third rate overhaul kits. It can save you a bunch of frustration in doing it right the first time.! Good luck.
