93' Evinrude 15hp, wheres my idle?

so i am getting flustered. my 15hp LS (1993) last year went putt...putt...putt.. and trolled all day great. we didnt fish for 2 months so went and ran it outta fuel, started a tad rough but cleaned up.

fast forward to summer, gassed it up, fired it up, wouldnt idle or troll for crud. cleaned the carb very well, runs great but wont idle for too long, bout 20 full seconds then i have to tap pop the choke out and back in and its good for 20 more seconds. this is got me puzzled, carbs clean and good, and it never had gas go bad anyways..

ideas?

also i keep reading "link n sync".. what is that?

Did you get the low speed needle adjusted properly?
When you had the carb apart did you check the little hose in the bowel, is it installed properly, are the tiny jets clean where the hose attached?

there isnt one, but solved it, at the bottom of the jet its plugged with a freeze plug, it had falling part way off, runs good now. so what is link n sync?

Link & sync is the timing between the throttle linkage and the mag plate, as well as other linkage adjustments.
