I have a 93 evinrude 40hp - and im trying to figure out how to adjust the idle down a little. It has the type of controls that you pull out on the handle to get it to fast idle. Anyone know where the regular idle adjustment is? Thanks!
Tawd, I have a 1997 70 HP Evinrude. I just had an idle problem, and the way the idle was adjusted downward was to adjust the timing from 17 BTDC to 14 BTDC. There is no idle screw or adjustment that we could find.
Seems funny to me, but that seems to have resolved my idle problem.
Wrong, i have the 93 40 there is an idle adjustment screw on the linkage. red arrow, is idle speed screw, turning counter clockwise slow idle, clockwise increases idle.
