About 3 months ago, I had a bad coil. I replaced it, engine ran well since then. Took the boat out last week, engine started a little rough.. While out on the water, the boat wouldn't start. I tapped the carbs.. and wah la, the boat ran.. I figured it was a stuck float.
Took the boat out yesterday, boat ran at the house.. got to the water, and nothing, would only start when I put it in gear. I messed around with the throttle linkage at the house and got it to start. I also pulled the top carb out and adjusted the float, it seemed to not be working right, it was holding a lot of gas.
Onwards to the Coils. As the boat was running, I pulled the coils one at a time. Only the Coil that was replaced was working..
My question is, how do I go from 3 coils working, to One?! Does it have anything to do with the control module? After I replace the two coils, should the boat be in good working order, or does it sound like I have more problems under the hood?
