I have been noticing a fair amount of oil in the splash well. Tonight I got around to investigating. Now I think I know the answer but want some confirmation of my suspicion.

Prime the engine in the down position and all is well. As soon as you lift the engine fuel runs from both carbs. Now something tells me it is a problem with the floats. I find it odd that both are doing it at the same time but I have seen odder things.
Anyone have a better idea on this problem input will definitely be of help
Thank you for your time in advance.

The fact it is doing it at the same time on both carbs should indicate this is normal. And YES this is normal whenever the motor is tilted there will be fuel oil mix running out of the carbs' mouth due to the fact that IT IS TILTED! NOPE, this is not a float adjustment problem but a normal occurrence when you tilt the engine up.

Thank you Jiggz. With that being the case why am I after 4 years just seeing all the oil in the splash well? What could I do to stop the gas from running out into the splash well to cause this mess?

You probably just haven't noticed it or you are now tilting the motor higher than it used to be. Lowering the float setting might reduce the leaking while tilted but it can also have negative affects on the engine performance especially at WOT.

The only way to prevent the leaking is not to tilt the engine higher than required but then that can cause more problems when trailering or when recovering from the ramp.
