Now that the boat starts and somewhat runs after sitting for a year and a half.

I pump up the bulb until it gets somewhat hard and then start the engine, I have to keep choking it with the key to keep it running or fast idle at the lever. I did spray a bunch of lube in the cylinders before start-up. I'm going to clean the plugs and start again to see if it'll idle on its own. All six carbs have been rebuilt with all new rebuild kits. New bulb and new fuel line from the tank to the bulb. Question is, How do I know when to stop squeezing the bulb and after I turn the key off should the bulb be full and hard?
The fuel filter is clean also.

Thanks

Will it keep running if you keep pumping the primer bulb ?? And after you shut it off the bulb should be soft.

Cleaned the plugs and it runs and idles great. I guess all the cylinder lube I sprayed in there before initial start up needed to burn off or evidently cleaned off the plugs. It runs great.

Also, before every startup I try to pump the 2 cycle oil bulb that is connected to the 2 cycle oil tank. The bulb is ALWAYS hard and cannot be squeezed. Should it be? How can I be sure I am getting oil injected into the fuel mixture? I have a piece of tape on the oil tank to see if its dropping but I am sure it is dropping at a very slow rate. I just want to be sure.

Thanks again very much

Marking the oil tank and checking the level is correct. The only time you need to pump the oil primer bulb is if you had the oil line off of the vro and are priming the system. The vro warning will let you know if it's not pumping oil.

The fuel hose bulb will get hard when you pump it up each day, prior to the first cold start. Once the engine starts to draw fuel through the fuel hose, the bulb will soften, but should not collapse on itself. That's normal.
