93 islander floatation foam ?

Is my 93 Islander likely to have the type of foam that absorbs and holds water? How can ya tell the differance in the types used? Thanx...Dan

If its wet it asorbs if dry prob not. LOL Most of the older boats retain water and it adds a lot of weight and needs replaced.

everything is pretty dry...the foam is kinda crumbly if I squeeze it between my fingers so I guess it must be the old stuff.

Another concern with the old foam is as you see. It crumbles and that mess will prevent any water from draining sooner or later . Id reccomend new foam in the floor Pink-blue from Home depot will do nicely.
