93 Johnson 70 hp found in the weeds

The other day I was out in my former employers back 40 and found a scout 153 with a 1993 Johnson 70 hp on it sitting in the hot Texas sun without a cover on it. After an inquiry I found that the boat and motor was purchased when it was only a couple of years old,put in the back and never used. I thought it best not to try and start it until the water pump and impeller was checked out but my curiosity was such that I had to. If it ran and pumped some water fine but I still would only run it just enough to see how it ran and idled. Surprisingly it started right up, pumped water but not much and idled good. I ordered the pump kit today. Oh by the way I bought the boat with motor for $1200.00!

I looked on you tube at the motor and liked what I saw and ordered a service manual but if anyone can give me more insight into this motor I would be very thankful. Thanks
