Back again! She ran well for a while...

I recently have changed from VRO to mixing myself. The only wires that were disconnected were the two tan wires from the tank to the pump.. I never have heard a warning siren before.. (ever). As far as the slow mode goes.. When the engine is out of the water (ear muffs on) I can rev all the way.. when the boat is IN the water, I'm stuck to 2500 RPM! Is this due to the VRO disconnect? Or temp sensor gone bad? Any help will do! Thanks. Local boat shop wants $65 for a temp sensor?! Is that not insane?

ALSO - The engine did not just go into slow mode after the oil injection was changed over... It ran fine for a few months. Just last weekend, going at full throttle, the engine died down to 2500 RPM.

Im not one to help you with your problem but there are many here that can, But you dont want to rev the motor very high when it's not in water or have back pressure, do that to many times and you wont have a engine,

Disconnect the tan wires to the temp sensors and try it. If all is well then you have a bad sensor.
