93 Yammy 115 - odd behaviour

Hi all. My Yammy is running well with a hard bulb and good filter and water trap. No water in trap - fresh fuel. It runs cleanly to 5500. It has about 500 hours on it. I took off the 12mm hex bolt and jet from the bottom of the top carb and flush it out with fuel using the primer the other day but could not get to the bottom one. It starts and runs well, idling sweetly. It performed well all day in stop start and hard running. It was very quick to respond to the throttle. However when I got back into shore and was mucking about in the mooring/ramp area it cut out at idle when I went to open the throttle gently and was a little hard to re-start without the choke - I then choked it and it ran well without further cutting out. I then got it out of the water and trailered it for about 45 mins then put the muffs on, primed it and started it up. It needed choke to start. The problem is that it started to miss very slightly. I could just make it out and the electronic yammy tacho picked it up as jumping from 1000rpm to 800 and back up once every 3 or 4 seconds. It is not "bad" miss but I wonder whether the behaviour at the mooring and when flushing is connected and whether it is a carby issue. Is it about time I sent the thing in for a carby strip down and clean with a kit put through it.

Thanks for the help

hello
that motor is usually rock solid
we really dont have any ign quirks. however fuel sytem problems are another story. first though test the spark and compression. but if you have to choke it more than usual I would suspect a small pice of trash in the fuel bowls Idle circuit.
good luck and keep posting
