94 yamaha P115 TLRS
Problem, 500 rpm motor purs. 700 rpm and up to 1300 or so it idles rough.
I,v taken carbs a part and cleaned them, did not pull the big brass screws on top of them. Every thing else was pulled and spray cleaned. I did find plugged jets in lower bowls.
I,v taken fuel pump a part found nothing. Spring was real stiff not sure if this is ok or not.
Installed new primer bulb, and water seperator, drained gas check inside of tank and pick up tube. Primes hard always has in the last three years of ownership.
After further inspection I,v found a couple of things that i have questions about before i proceed.
The lower timing screw has been tampered with, it also does not have a jam nut like the upper screw has. it seems questionabley loose.
The other problem is lower area of timing arm I will call it a plastic cam meets the carb throttle. The screw that is on carb linkage is a reverse thread. Its loose and throttle arm does not touch the plastic cam on arm 100% of time in neutrual or low idle. I see that this screw is in a enlong gatted hole in linkage.
I can not find any thing on here that will help sort this out. I,m concerend that timing has been Jerry rigged to the rough idle out.
I,m not sure how to proceed here due to lack of knowledge.
