94 135 Merc Thump Noise

When I start to accelerate in forward gear I get this ominous thud as though i have hit something with the prop. I am sure this is not the case. It always happens at lower RPM as I am starting to plain out.

Is this a cable adjustment issue and if so, how can I find out if this is my problem?

THe engine is jumping gear try to adjust the cable by shortening it and if the engine keeps jumping gear it will need a clutch dog and may also need rev. gear.
