i have a 94 malibu with a 350 (chevy) mercriuser blue water engine. the on board computer is telling us the throttle position sensor has an error. It runs like crap at low rpm but great at higher rpm. we changed the tps and nothing has changed. on board still says the same, and runs no better. any suggestions?

you need to check if you are getting the right volts there first

If you start checking voltages DO NOT poke a hole in the wires insulation to get voltage readings, it WILL come back to haunt you.

The black wire is ground.
The grey wire is the 5.0 volt refrence.
The blue wire is the signal return voltage to the Control module. Voltage should be about .50 volts at idle to about 5.0 volts at wide open throttle.
