I had a bad kill switch (the one on the key switch) I replaced the key/kill switch in the control box. It worked great. I went out the next day and the engine fuse was blown. I replaced it and it worked great again, I started it 10 times. The next day I went out and it was blown again. Did I get a wire crossed by accident when I replaced the switch, or is something grounding out? Thanks in advance.

I would pull the control box back apart and double check for a pinched or shorted wire.

Re: 94, 50hp johnson

Ok I have pulled apart the control box, check everything. I found some wires back at the motor that needed taping up. I put everything back together. The fuse operates the ignition and the trim. I started the motor 25 times, and I trimmed the motor up and down many times. I called the guy and told him I had it fixed. He came got it and took it home and tried it when he got home and the fuse was blown. He brought it back. I am back to square one. I hate electrical problems. What size fuse should it have in it and could there be one of the wires on the back of the switch reversed. This guy replaced the switch before he brought it to me so I am working second handed. Any help would be appreciated.
