I have a '94 Mercruiser Alpha I sterndrive. While I was getting her ready for the Spring I changed my impellar and i have run into an issue. I put her on the lake and the boat wouldnt move. After looking at the lower half i realized that the 90 degree end of the shift shaft had fallen out of the slotted arm in the upper gear housing. I slipped it back in and ran the bout for about 15 minutes and it fell out again. I went by the book on replacing the inmpellar ( so i think) and that is the only thing i changed on the lower half since last season. Any advice on what could be causing this to happen??
