my 120 is acting as if i have a skip. thought it may be carbs so i took to mechanic. he said i have good fire and compression and that carbs needed slight adjustment. ran fine on muffs. put it in the water saturday and same thing. acts as if you just yanked a plug wire off. bogs on takeoff and not running to full speed. what else could it be? stator or power pack maybe????????

simply speaking it is either: compression, spark or fuel...you figure out what is wrong through a process of elimination...if compression is fine and spark is fine that kinda leaves fuel as the issue. assuming your compression/sparks test were done properly.

Is the fuel tank an outboard or part of the boat.Run the tank on a remote with fresh fuel. Sounds like the boats fuel tank has trash in it,possibly a fuel restriction.A vacum gauge in line will tell you if a resrtiction is present. If the boat runs fine under load on a test tank the problem is in the boats fuel system. Eliminate as much as possible.Loose clamps, hard cracked lines etc.
