My 94 johnson 112 is experiencing intermittent problems. Every now and then (but not always) while getting on plane or running 3000 rpms and up, the engine bogs until it dies. Restart motor and it might happen again, or maybe not. Some hard starting problems too sometimes. I have checked out everything I can, but the problem only occurs intermittently. The power pack is new, didnt help any, but I had to eliminate that possibility. It runs fine much of the time.

Ive had restricted fuel before, this doesnt seem like that. In my experience, when you pull the throttle back the rpms immediately surge if the fuel is restricted. the bulb isnt going flat.

What to replace next? Stator? trigger?
I tried looking for air leak at idle, no bubbles. I am bothered that the bulb does seem to get air into it at idle for a long time, or after being shut down a while. doesnt seem like it should be able to. maybe fuel pump pinhole?
