My 1994 Johnson 115 TLARC outboard started to develop a new issue this season. After sitting for more than a day or two the motor struggles to tilt the motor up from the storage position. Tilts down fine at normal speed, tilt/trim works fine once I have made a couple of cycles from up to down. It is just really slow and stutters to tilt the motor up from the vertical position at the beginning of the day. The fluid has been topped off. Any suggestions as to what I need to diagnose next?

imho it sounds like you have a weak trim motor or might have some air in the system

Check your trim relays, you can swap them and see if the problem still present...

You might also have some bushings in the tilt tube area binding up from corrosion.
