I'm interested in purchasing a used boat that has a '94 Johnson 150 Faststrike on it. My current boat has an '89 Evinrude 150XP, which is a crossflow. Is this '94 a 60-degree looper? Seems like I've heard Dhadley and others say good things about the loopers - is there anything in particular other than compression, lower unit oil, etc. that I should look at closely before getting too serious about this rig? Thanks!

Get this post ready --"I cant believe the difference in those two 150's!!!"<br /><br />Thats about all you need in addition to the things you mentioned. Anytime I buy a used motor I always clean the carbs, replace the water pump kit and refill the gearcase oil. Yes, its a 60* looper.

So what you're saying is that I'm not going to believe the difference in these two motors? Guess I should make the 4 hour drive over to check the rig out. It's on a fiberglass Mirrocraft walleye-style boat with a walk-through windshield - I've never heard of or seen a Mirrocraft that wasn't aluminum, so I don't know quite what to expect. It looks pretty nice in the photos though, so I guess we'll see. Thanks for the reply!
