I have a '94 DT100 that seems to like to fill the lower cover with water at RPM >4000. After some investigating, I noticed that water was coming up through the drain hole in the lower cover. THe drain hole is close to the latches. Ater perusing the schematics, it appears that this drain is a straight shot all the way to the bottom of the motor. THere is nothing extra coming in from the motor, it just drains water from the lower cover. Soooo...is the only possibility that somehow the water is getting forced up from below when the boat is on plane and at high RPM? What do I do? WHy is it happening? Any other ideas for the cause?
1) No water comes out with the hose on it...even at high rpm.
2) If I pour water into the lower cover, it drains out quickly to the bottom of the motor.
3) I took the lower unit off and what I can see of the tube appears intact.
THanks for any tips!
