Hi, I'm in the process of getting my boat running again and had a quick question. The PTT wasnt working so I took a look and found out the motor had rusted a whole into the side of it and all the internals were ruined. I'm probably going to replace the motor, but I noticed they were in the $300 price range. So I looked on eBay to see if i could find a cheaper deal, and I noticed a lot of "universal" generic trim/tilt motors. My question is, if I find a 4-bolt, 2-wire PTT motor, can it be used as a replacement for my ruined motor? Thanks, Brian.

Yes those little ptt motors are pricey but I would be hesitant of getting one of the aftermarket cheap o's. I replaced mine at 20 hours and found out I had a bad relay that was causing the problem. Naturally they would not refund my money on electrical parts so I have a almost new motor that will work for you. Of course it is OEM 4 bolt 2 wire. I had to pay $500 for my new one. I would let you have this one for $200. Feel free to email me w/any questions etc. And yes I will warranty the motor to be as I have stated.:)
