Give it some gas and it gos, allot of gas and its like the clutch or belt drive is slipping. How does the motor put power to the impeller?

it's direct drive, no belt or clutch.

look under ski through the intake grate. check for obstructions (weeds, trash, etc). Look at the impeller for chips & dings.
